“When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you.” — Rumi
Purpose has a sensation. That’s what Rumi is pointing to. Not a perfect plan. Not constant passion. A river feeling—a sense of inner movement that tells you you’re aligned.
If you’ve been doing the “right” things but feel dry, this message is for you.
How dryness shows up:
- You feel tired in a way sleep doesn’t fix.
- You feel uninspired even when life is fine.
- You feel like you’re performing your life.
- You keep asking, “What’s wrong with me?”
- You can’t tell what you want anymore.
Dryness often happens when you’ve been living from obligation instead of essence.
Do this today: River vs. Boulder
Pick one activity, decision, or commitment and ask:
- Does this feel like a river… or pushing a boulder?
- If it’s a boulder, what is one way to lighten it
Lighten it by:
- doing it in a smaller way
- doing it later
- asking for support
- removing perfection
- saying no
Then choose one “river action” today—something that brings you back to aliveness:
- create something small
- speak one honest truth
- take one step toward your calling
- clean up one messy area
- rest deeply
- learn something that excites you
The sign you’ll see today:
You’ll feel an inner yes. A quiet flow. You’ll stop checking for approval. You’ll feel like you can breathe inside your life again.
That’s the river.
Purpose doesn’t always shout.
Sometimes it’s simply the thing that restores flow in you.
